I Can Buy Myself Flowers

But like, you can too.

I LOVE Valentine’s day!

Whether it’s Valentines, Galentines, or neither because it’s technically a made up holiday, it’s still fun to dress up and you know I can’t pass an opportunity for a photoshoot. I’ve been extra pumped this year because I’ve been listening to Flowers by Miley Cyrus on repeat and if that doesn’t scream Galentines then I don’t know what does.

I love cheesy Valentine’s photoshoots and while Jarret, my forever Valentine, couldn’t join in the fun because he’s lame, I still put together a li’l bit of love-themed inspiration. So please enjoy 5 fun outfits for Valentine’s Day 2023.

Shoutout to my valentine <3

I’m getting cute aggression just by looking at you.

This was Jarret’s gift to me this year and yes I did tear up.

It’s the exact placement of stars that were above us the night he proposed.

The Zulu phrase says “if the moon loves you, why worry about the stars”

Like, c’mon, that’s so romantic!

Casual, Who Me?

I know you probably can’t recognize me in these photos because I’m not wildly overdressed for a casual event but this is my favorite Valentine’s look this year because it’s just cute and fun and happy!

Go pink on pink for an iconic look this year.

Interlude: What happened to the balloons?

I have privacy hearts on Jesse’s face but if you know me personally I can show you the full cute photo!

Can I pause our regular programming to explain to you how I went from 7 heart balloons to 2 by the end of the night?

It’s this li’l nugget right here. My adorable nephew thought that it was so much fun to pop the balloons I spent $2 on. Krista and Shane tried to corral him but how do you stop a monster?

Anyway that’s how the massacre of the balloons happened and also here’s some really cute photos of him.

Nothing but silk

First on the agenda is to convince my mom to keep this beautiful gown because she looks BEAUTIFUL. She is beautiful. And she needs to treat herself.

Second, never ever pass up an opportunity to wear a floor length gown or silk. It makes you look and feel like a princess, need I say more?

Bring in the Gingham

Adding a maximalist pattern and some sparkle shoes is a surefire way to look amazing for date night. This is a Wanida dress which is an amazing brand Britt and I will be working with that’s based out of South Africa. I’ll have some for sale on my Poshmark and Instagram soon! So keep an eye out if you love this Vogue-featured brand.

Draped in Love

I’ve currently been obsessing over draped tops, corsetry details, and that Victorian-I-Am-In-Bridgertonl vibe. The nice thing about having these dressy tops is you can go fancy by adding a skirt and heels or go casual like I did with some wedge boots and jeans. It’s a nice change of pace from my usual t-shirt and oversized sweatshirt look I usually go for. But form-fitting, draping, structure, and detail are the new trend I’m currently obsessed with and I feel like you should be too.

Also can I just show you the hilariously oversized Valentine’s card I bought for Jarret? It makes me cackle and I love it.

So, when you’re drowning in flowers, chocolates, and other such gifts from all of the suitors who flock to you because of these outfit inspos, just remember to save me some.

The harsh (and sometimes ugly) reality

Okay, in the spirit of being honest, I will admit that this right here is what I pretty much looked like all day. I only did my hair and makeup for the photoshoot and for about 70% of the day I was wearing shorts or sweatpants, an oversized t-shirt, and worn in jacket with slippers. So no matter what your plans are, no matter how you spend your Valentine’s day this year, I hope you’re comfortable, confident, and feel very loved.
